At least three of President Museveni’s aides have tested positive for Covid19 after the head-of-state’s trip in Dubai, UAE and Ethiopia.
This week, Museveni was in UAE for the Dubai Expo 2020. During his trip, Museveni met Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, investors and Ugandans living in UAE.
He then proceeded to Ethiopia where he attended Prime Minister Ahmed Abiy’s inauguration ceremony.
Now, the president’s personal physician Dr Joseph Okia says three of Museveni’s aides have tested positive for Covid19.
But the country’s number one had tested negative.
“Following President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s recent return from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa, three presidential aides have tested positive for Covid19. This despite best efforts and measures including daily PCR testing and full vaccination,” tweeted Dr Okia on October 08.
“This highlights the continued difficulty of safe travel during the pandemic and importance of testing all inbound and outbound travelers.”
