Kabula County MP Enos Asiimwe has been admitted at IHK in Kampala after an attack at a hotel in Lyantonde.
Reports indicate that the attack happened at Courtyard Hotel where Asiimwe is said to have booked a room for a night.
But the MP is reportedly saw a suspicious person coming out the room opposite his with a firearm. Reports further indicate that the legislator locked himself inside his room, only for the attacker to break into it.
It is also said that Asiimwe jumped through the window, and that the attacker followed the member of parliament through the window.
However, reports further claim, the firearm was damaged in the process and that the attacker was unable to use it to harm Asiimwe.
It is said that the attacker grabbed a mobile phone from Asiimwe and took off.
The MP is now being treated for injuries sustained during the fall as he, according to reports, broke his leg.
A case of aggravated robbery was recorded in Lyantonde District, vide CRB 133/2026. Other reports also say that detectives visited the scene of crime and took statements from eye witnesses and MP Asiimwe.
This publication has learnt that Speaker Anita Among visited MP Enos Asiimwe at IHK on Monday, March 16, 2026. Other politicians have also visited Asiimwe in hospital and he is said to be recovering.
