Top schools like Greenhill Academy, Kampala Parents School, Kabojja Junior School, and Hillside Nursery and Primary School did not register a single aggregate 4 in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) 2025.
Despite their strong overall performance in first grades, teachers and parents were disappointed that none of their candidates did not get aggregate 4s.
Aggregate four is the highest score in PLE, meaning a candidate gets distinctions in each of the four subjects: English, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies.
In contrast with Greenhill Academy, Kampala Parents School, Kabojja Junior School, and Hillside Nursery and Primary School, Seeta Junior School in Mukono, owned by Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. Chrysostom Muyingo, achieved remarkable results, with 56 pupils scoring an aggregate of 4.
The school’s last candidate scored an aggregate of 8. This means that all 140 candidates passed in division one (first grade).
Seeta Junior Mukono’s performance is notable, especially compared to other top schools:
- Kampala Parents School (Naguru) had no pupils with aggregate 4, down from one in 2024.
- Hillside Nursery and Primary School (Naalya) had no aggregate 4s for the second year, despite having 99 in 2022.
- Kabojja Junior School had five pupils scoring aggregate 4 in 2024.
- Greenhill Academy (Buwate and Kibuli) had no pupils scoring aggregate 4.
- Outside Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono, even schools like Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality’s Pearl Junior which normally have candidates scoring aggregate fours did not have any.
Parents and teachers in these schools are asking themselves what could have gone wrong, with some blaming the marking and grading.
