Youth and children affairs minister Balaam Barugahara has prayed for Janet Museveni and her husband Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
Minister Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi extended heartfelt wishes to First Lady and education minister Janet Museveni as well as President Yoweri Museveni, praising their dedication to serving Uganda.
In a social media post, Minister Barugahara wished the First Family “wisdom, grace, and good health” as they continue to lead the country.
“May God bless and protect our nation’s mother and First Lady, Mama Janet Museveni, and her husband, Mr. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa,” wrote Balaam Barugahara. “May they be strengthened with wisdom, grace, and good health as they lead and serve.”
Museveni has steered Uganda since 1986 when he took over power following a five-year bush war. Reelected in January 2026 to lead for another five years, Museveni has been well supported by Janet Museveni.
Janet Museveni has even served as a minister, first in charge of Karamoja affairs, and currently in the docket of education and sports.
Minister Balaam Barugahara specifically lauded Mama Janet’s kindness and compassion towards vulnerable children and young people, saying she is “truly one of the kindest and most loving mothers” he has ever known.
“Mama Janet Museveni is truly one of the kindest and most loving mothers I have ever known,” the junior minister further wrote.
“May she be continually blessed for her kindness, generosity, and compassion toward vulnerable children and young people around the world.”
In his prayer, the minister quoted Psalm 121:5 ‘The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.”
Janet Museveni is admired by some government officials and citizens who, like the president, address her as ‘Maama.”
