Kololo-based hangout Mezo Noir Club says its staff, who had been arrested over their alleged involvement in the death of Martha Ahumuza Murari, have been released. These include a male friend, a staff member, who police had said had drunk with Ahumuza up to 3am.

Mezo Noir Club informed its clients that its staff have been found innocent and have left police detention.

“Our hearts continue to go out to the family and friends of our esteemed client for the loss of such a young and fine soul,” stated Mezo Noir management in a notice.

“The investigations have found our staff innocent and they have subsequently been released from Police custody.”

The management went on claim that any other information contrary to this on the staff is simply “rumours in the media,” and that it was “false, malicious, unfounded” and information that the public should treat with the disdain and contempt it deserves.

It should be remembered that following the unfortunate incident, Mezo Noir’s management decided to temporarily close to allow Uganda Police and the relevant justice sector stakeholders to conduct investigations.

Now, as things stand, Mezo Noir Club is planning on reopening the hangout, promising to continue serving them while mindful safety and high end standards in the entertainment industry.

“We will advise you on the exact date when our doors shall be opened again, but assure you that this will be very soon,” Mezo Noir’s management said.

Ahumuza’s shocking death after reportedly taking drinks with a male friend at the Kololo-based bar last month had initially been linked to suspected poisoning. No conclusive report has come out on the real cause of her death.

Police claimed that Ahumuza drank with the cashier up to 3:30am, and two brothers had been detained over the shocking death, as reported Here.

During Ahumuza’s burial, her father vowed not to rest until he has found out what or who (if any) really killed her daughter, at whatever cost. (See Details Here).
