A 23-year-old boda-boda rider, Simon Kambale, was stabbed to death in a fight at Vegas Bar in Majengo cell Rukoki ward Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.
The incident occurred last night, reportedly over a stolen phone at the said bar.
The Rwenzori East police community liaison officer, SP Luka Mbusa, confirmed the incident and announced that one suspect whose names were withheld has been arrested.
“We have in custody one suspect in connection with the matter,” said SP Mbusa.
Kambale was rushed to Mt St Mary’s Hospital DOK, where he succumbed to his injuries.
SP Mbusa urged locals to remain cautious and vigilant, especially during the Christmas celebrations.
The police say they are investigating the matter further. The deceased will be laid to rest in Wasawanaba, Kilembe Ward, Central Division of Kasese Municipality.
