Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi has been airlifted to Kampala after being involved in an accident.
Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Enterprise Corporation, was reportedly returning from an event when the accident happened.
The wreckage for part of the vehicle that Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi was travelling in showed how serious the accident was and how lucky the former deputy police chief was to come out alive.
No official reports by the military or police have been released on Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi’s health condition but some reports suggested that the senior UPDF officer was out of danger.
Trained at the National Defence College in Kenya, Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi previously served as the Commander of the Military Police, and Deputy Inspector General of Police, and deputy head of the Special Forces Command (SFC).
Recent road accidents in Uganda have been blamed on reckless driving, poor state of roads, overloading and vehicles’ dangerous mechanical conditions.
There is need to do more to improve road safety in Uganda so as to reduce on the loss of lives and injuries associated with road accidents.
