Liverpool star Diogo Jota has died in a car accident just two weeks after his wedding.
Reports from Spain indicate that the Liverpool and Portugal star Diogo Jota, who was aged 28, died, in Zamora in northwestern Spain.
He died along his brother Andre.
Reports suggest that Jota’s Lamborghini “flew over” a road. The accident on the A-52 in the province of Zamora has been confirmed by officials responsible for emergency services in the Castilla and Leon region.
‘The 1-1-2 Castilla y León operations room received several calls reporting a vehicle accident at Km. 65 of the A-52, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora. A car was reported to have been involved in an accident and the vehicle was on fire,’ a statement by emergency services read in part.
About two weeks ago, Diogo Jota had married Rute Cardoso.
Diogo Jota and Rute Cardoso had three children.
