LISTS: See Expired Courses at KIU, Victoria University and IUIU

In the first part of our reports on expired courses in Ugandan universities and institutes, The Pearl Times listed affected academic programs at Makerere University and Kyambogo University. In the second part, we looked at Gulu University, and Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).

In the third part of our reports on expired courses or academic programs in Ugandan universities and institutes, The Pearl Times looked at the public universities of Kabale, Busitema, Muni, Lira, Soroti & Mountains of the Moon University. Now, in our fourth part, we focus on expired courses or academic programs at Kampala International University (KIU), Victoria University (VU) and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).

Please remember that the following lists of expired courses at KIU, Victoria University and IUIU are based on data from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) as accessed by The Pearl Times on June 22, 2024. The data at NCHE may change as review of courses is an ongoing process.

KAMPALA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – KIU EXPIRED COURSES 2024

KIU has 32 expired courses or academic programs which are either due for review or are under review. Bachelor’s degree courses due for review are: Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Community Health, Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, Bachelor of Arts with Education, Bachelor of Computer Science, and Bachelor of Education Arts – Secondary.

Other KIU bachelor’s degree academic programs that have expired are: Bachelor of Guidance and Counselling, Bachelor of International Relations, Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management.

KIU expired diploma courses include: Diploma in Computer Science, Diploma in Development Studies, Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, Diploma in Information Technology, Diploma in International Relations, and Diploma in Library and Information Science.

Others are: Diploma in Mass Communication, Diploma in Project Planning and Management,  Diploma in Public Administration, Diploma in Social Work and Social Administration, Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, as well as Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration.

KIU expired master’s degree courses or academic programs are: Master of Arts in English, Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies, Master of Arts in Linguistics, Master of Arts in Public Administration and Management,  and Master of Education in Early Childhood Education.

Others are: Master of Education in Education Management and Administration, Master of Science in Environmental Management, Master of Science in Mass Communication, and Masters in Law.

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY IN UGANDA – IUIU EXPIRED COURSES 2024

At IUIU, 22 courses or academic programs have expired and are due for review. They are: Bachelor of Arts (Islamic/Arabic), Bachelor of Arts Da’awah and Sociology, Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, Bachelor of Business Computing, Bachelor of Education -Geography Papers – External, Bachelor of Education -Professional Studies, Bachelor of Nursing Science, and Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management.

Other expired courses at IUIU are: Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Bachelor of Science Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Political Science, Bachelor of Social Sciences, Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration, Diploma in Business Studies, Diploma in Primary Education-Professional Programme, Foundation Programme/Remedial Programme-Arts and Foundation Programme/Remedial Programme-Science.

Other IUIU courses or academic programs are: Master of Arts in History, Master of Arts Islamic Studies-Arabic Version, Master of Science in Political Science, Masters in Business Administration and Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Humanitarian Diplomacy.

VICTORIA UNIVERSITY EXPIRED COURSES

Compared to KIU and IUIU, Victoria University has fewer expired courses or academic programs due for review. Only 12 Victoria University courses are due for review. They include: Bachelor of Business Information Systems, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Nursing Science, and Bachelor of Public Health.

Other Victoria University expired courses are: Bachelor of Science Banking and Finance, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Bachelors of Business computing, Diploma in Human Resource Management, Higher Education Certificate in Biological Sciences, Master of Arts in Public Administration and Management and University Foundation Programs.
