The Ugandan national army, the UPDF, has released the shortlists of candidates who applied for jobs under the UPDF General recruitment exercise 2025.
The release of the shortlists followed the exercise of submission of applications by candidates who had interest in joining the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).
The national army has now announced that the physical recruitment exercise will begin on the 05 August 2025 and end on the 15 August 2025 at different recruitment centres.
Successful candidates are also expected to report to the Kaweweta Basic Military Training School in Ngoma-Nakaseke District within three days of recruitment.
“Those shortlisted should report with three passport photographs and an application letter signed by LC 1, DISO, and GISO. Report with their original academic documents,” added defence and UPDF spokesperson Maj Gen Felix Kulayigye.
“Those who did not indicate their district of residence in their applications will report to the districts mentioned on their national identification cards.”
Maj Gen Kulayigye also warned that “those who report with forged documents will face prosecution.”
“Recruitment in the UPDF is free of charge, and shortlisted candidates should watch out for conmen and fraudsters,” added Kulayigye.
The defence and UPDF spokesperson also made it clear that “only shortlisted candidates should appear at the recruitment centres.”
