Uganda’s Education Service Commission (ESC), under the Ministry of Education and Sports, has released the names of teachers shortlisted for secondary school headteachers jobs on government payroll as well as their competence test schedule.
The shortlisted teachers responded to an advert sent out on April 14, 2025.
“The secretary, Education Service Commission in forms applicants who responded to the esc internal advert no. 2/2025 that was published on Education Service Commission e-recruitment portal on 14th April 2025 for the post of headteacher secondary that the shortlist is out for viewing,” announced ESC permanent secretary Dr Asuman Lukwago.
Dr Lukwago went on to note that shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a competence test on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 as per schedule as will be indicated on the shortlist.
The competence test will be conducted at Kololo Senior Secondary School, Kampala starting at 08:00 am, noted ESC permanent secretary Dr Lukwago.
“Candidates should come along with national identity card, school identity card and a blue or black pen only,” he added.
“All shortlisted candidates must appear for the competence test as scheduled, because those who fail to appear will not be allowed to do oral interviews.”
He went on to inform the shortlisted candidates that the schedule of oral interviews will be released in due course.
“Those whose names do not appear on the shortlist should consider themselves unsuccessful for the posts above,” he added.
