LIST: See Names of 1600 Teachers Shortlisted for Payroll Jobs as Secondary School Deputy Headteachers

The Education Service Commission (ESC) has shortlisted up to 1586 teachers for government payroll jobs as deputy headteachers of secondary schools in Uganda.

The shortlisted candidates filed their applications following an advert the ESC placed in the government daily in November and December 2023.

“Those whose names do not appear on the shortlist should consider themselves unsuccessful,” said Education Service Commission secretary Dr Asuman Lukwago.

According to ESC secretary Dr Lukwago, competence tests for shortlisted applicants will do competence tests from Wednesday to Friday this week.

“The Secretary, Education Service Commission informs applicants who responded to the advert that appeared in the New Vision of 27th November 2023 and 11th December 2023 for the post of Deputy Headteacher, Department of Secondary Education, in the Ministry of Education and Sports that the shortlist for the competence test is out,” said Lukwago.

“The competence tests for the above post will take place starting from Wednesday, 7th to Friday, 9th February 2024, starting at 08:00 am each day at Kololo Senior Secondary School, Kampala. Please come along with your national identity card, school identity card and a blue or black pen only.”

Meanwhile, the Education Service Commission – on which President Yoweri Museveni’s sister Dr Violet Kajubiri sits – has previously been on the spot over bribery, with its officials accused of selling teaching jobs to unqualified teachers for as low as Shs2m per job. (See Details Here).
