The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Mofped) has released the list of individuals (including MPs), private companies and government agencies who have defaulted taxes.
According to a list the finance ministry presented to Parliament in a report responding to queries on the charter of fiscal responsibility for the financial year 2021/2022-2025/26, over 800 individuals and entities have defaulted Shs346bn.
Of this money, government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) owe tax collector Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Shs209 while individuals and private companies have defaulted Shs137bn.
Here is the list of current and former MPs as well as retired judges who have defaulted millions of Shillings in taxes:
