
Uganda’s education ministry has released names of students shortlisted for scholarships in India. The shortlisted candidates were part of hundreds who had applied for the scholarships offered through the Ministry of Education and Sports’ Central Scholarships Committee.Â
According to the lists released by the secretary of the Central Scholarships Committee, the candidates nominated for the Indian government scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year will pursue PhDs. masters degrees and bachelors degrees.

Beneficiary academic programs include PhD in pharmacology, PhD in Petroleum Geoscience and Production, PhD in Food Science and Technology, PhD in Education, and PhD in Cyber Security.
Others will pursue Master of Science of Computer Forensics, Master of Science in Environmental Science, Master of Science of Natural Sciences (Physics), Master of Science of Natural Sciences (Physics), and Master of Science of Natural Sciences (Biology).
Other candidates were shortlisted for Bachelor of Science of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science of Computer Science, and Bachelor of Actuarial Sciences.
According to the secretary of the Central Scholarships Committee, all shortlisted candidates will be subjected to oral interviews on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th May 2026 at Legacy Towers Wing B Boardroom Level 2, starting at 9:00 AM.
Candidates have been instructed to go with their original academic documents, evidence of employment (for masters and PhD only), work ID, and school ID.
“All applicants whose names do not appear on this list should consider themselves not shortlisted,” the secretary of the central scholarship committee informed all those who had applied.
