KAMPALA — The Education Service Commission (ESC) has released the results of interviews for the appointment of headteachers to Government Secondary Education schools under the Ministry of Education and Sports.
The appointments form part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership in public secondary schools, particularly Seed Schools established to expand access to lower secondary education across Uganda.
According to a notice dated June 16, 2026, which The Pearl Times has seen, successful candidates were selected following interviews conducted on May 14 and 15, 2026 under Internal Advert No. 5/2025 and its addendum.
“The Secretary, Education Service Commission hereby informs candidates who sat for interviews on 14th & 15th May, 2026 under Internal Advert No. 5/2025 and Addendum to Internal Advert No. 5/2025 for the post of Headteacher, Government Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Sports that the results are hereby released,” said Mohammed Kaaya, who signed the notice on behalf of the Secretary, Education Service Commission.
Kaaya further stated that: “Appointed personnel should pick their notification letters in person from the Education Service Commission Registry on First Floor, Room 111, Farmers House at Parliamentary Avenue, Kampala on Friday 19th June, 2026, between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.”
He added: “Please come along with your original identification card.”
The notice also cautioned unsuccessful applicants, stating: “Those whose names do not appear should consider themselves unsuccessful.”
