First son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says main opposition politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine will be defeated in the 2026 general elections. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba also praised Bobi Wine nemesis and Democratic Alliance pressure group principal Mathias Mpuuga.
Bobi Wine lost to Gen Yoweri Museveni, Uganda’s long serving leader of nearly four decades and Muhozi’s father, in the 2021 elections. But Bobi Wine claimed that he had won, accusing the Electoral Commission of rigging him out in favour of Museveni.
The singer and politician is expected on the ballot paper in 2026. It is widely hoped that he will have a rematch with Museveni, the 80-year-old who will be seeking to extend his reign to 45 years.
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says Bobi Wine, or Kabobi, as he prefers to call him is “an im*ecile and half*it who will be utterly demolished in the next elections.”
Gen Muhoozi then went personal against Bobi Wine, attacking his physical appearance and his music footprint. “Kabobi tries to pretend that he is Bob Marley’s successor,” wrote Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. “First of all, Bob Marley sang legendary music! Bob Marley was a handsome Munyankore whose teeth were organised! Kabobi’s teeth are very disorganised!”
The first son and army chief then praised Mpuuga, the Nyendo-Mukungwe MP, former leader of opposition and ex-vice president of Bobi Wine at Bobi Wine’s NUP.
“This gentleman is Presidential materiel. He is an impressive politician,” noted Muhoozi.
It should be remembered that even before Norbert Mao crossed to Museveni’s government and was appointed minister, Muhoozi had praised him as being presidential material, as The Pearl Times reported Here and There.
On the 2026 elections, Gen Muhoozi has recently given his position on if he will stand for president to succeed his father Museveni, while Bobi Wine has also announced his position on running for the country’s top office, Here and There.
