Justice Esther Kisakye of the Supreme Court has reportedly travelled to South Africa for medical check-up and treatment, after her boss Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo granted her permission to travel abroad.
Days after Justice Kisakye flew out, judiciary spokesperson Jameson Karemani has been quoted as saying the judge was “not very ill and went on her own.”
Karemani added Kisakye had travelled for “some medical check-up.”
Sources say the judge will have her eyes examined.
Even when the judiciary has dismissed reports that Kisakye was in critical condition, some supporters of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) claim the judge was poisoned for siding with the opposition principal during the presidential election petition hearing.
As opposed to her colleagues, Kisakye had ruled that Bobi Wine’s legal team be allowed to file more evidence.
She would later accuse CJ Owiny-Dollo of confiscating her dissenting judgement.
