JUST IN: Minister Kitutu to Spend Easter Holiday in Luzira Prison after Being Denied Bail

Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Mary Goretti Kitutu Kimono has been remanded to Luzira Prison after she pleaded not guilty to charges of corruption and causing loss of public property.

The decision by the Anti-Corruption Court, sitting in Kololo in the capital Kampala on Thursday, April 06, 2023, means that Minister Kitutu will spend her Easter holiday behind bars for her role in the diversion of about 9,000 iron sheets that were meant for vulnerable persons under an empowerment program for the Karamoja sub-region.

Minister Kitutu is expected to return to the Anti-Corruption Court on April 12. On return to this temple of justice, Kitutu will have her bail application determined, meaning that she might have a chance of being released.

Also remanded was Kitutu’s brother.

Meanwhile, in what appeared like a veil of shame, Minister Kitutu Failed to hide her face as she entered the Anti-Corruption Court. (Read Story Here).

There are also calls for the arrest of Vice President Jessica Alupo, Speaker Anita Among, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and a number of ministers named in the Karamoja iron sheets scandal were growing. (See details Here).
