As expected, Ugandan singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone left Nakasero Hospital in the capital Kamapala where he has been admitted for nearly two weeks. It has also emerged that Jose Chameleone will likely take a break from music performances when he returns from the US.
After spending 11 days at the private health facility, Jose Chameleone appeared to have registered improvement in his health condition.

But he and his family as well as friends believe he needs better and specialized treatment in the US.
After he left Nakasero Hospital on December 23, Jose Chameleone headed to the Entebbe international airport to catch a flight to the US.
He will be admitted at the Allina Health Mercy Hospital in Minnesota, US. It is expected that his admission at the health facility will help him recover fully.
He will then take a break of about 90 days or more from the music scene after his treatment in the US, according to reports.
While Jose Chameleone has over the years been entertaining his fans over the festive seasons, he will be unable to do so for the 2024 season.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the promoters who have consistently believed in me and to the fans who have always shown up to support me. Unfortunately, I’ll be taking a temporary break from performing until I’ve made a full recovery,”
This festive season marks a first for me – spending it away from the stage and away from all of you, my beloved fans. Unfortunately, my hospitalization has disrupted our annual tradition of celebrating together through music.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the promoters who have consistently believed in me and to the fans who have always shown up to support me. Unfortunately, I’ll be taking a temporary break from performing until I’ve made a full recovery.
I’m deeply thankful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and well-wishes from my fans, friends, and family during my hospital stay. I also appreciate the exceptional care I received from Nakasero Hospital.
To everyone who has stood by me, I thank you. I will return stronger and better, God willing.
For God and my country. — Jose Chameleone
Jose Chameleone also saluted socialite Juliet Zawedde for the sacrifices she has made. “A special thank you to my dear friend Juliet Zawedde, who selflessly sacrificed her holiday to accompany me to the United States for further treatment,” he wrote.
It should be remembered that Jose Chameleone and his wife Daniella Atim separated. Their son Abba Marcus Mayanja has defended his mother as not being responsible for his father’s sickness. He instead blamed it on alcohol. (See Details Here and There).
For his US treatment, Jose Chameleone’s bills will be paid by President Yoweri Museveni. Museveni’s brother Salim Saleh has told off musicians to stop disturbing his work and peace, making clear he is tired of them coming to his home to beg. (See Details Here and There).
