First lady, also minister of education and sports, Janet Museveni has ordered chief of defence forces (CDF) and son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to stop war of words with ICT and national guidance minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi.
Gen Muhoozi and his followers online had ganged up against Minister Baryomunsi, with the first son telling the information minister that he will not make it to cabinet.
Baryomunsi said that as a Mukiga and one who had climbed from obscurity to cabinet, he would not be intimidated and was certain he would survive outside cabinet.
Muhoozi even claimed that Dr Baryomunsi was suffering from the Peter Pan Syndrome even as alcohol was dragged into the war of words. (See Details Here and There).
Now, Muhoozi says Janet Museveni has directed him to stop the war of words, and that he would not pursue it again.
“My mother, Mama Janet, ordered me to cease my war against Baryomunsi,” the military chief and senior presidential advisor on special operations said.
“Out of respect for her, I shall not pursue this matter anymore.”
Gen Muhoozi has previously ceased fired whenever his father Gen Museveni, his uncle Gen Salim Saleh or Rwandan president Paul Kagame has intervened and urged him to stop social media wars.
Muhoozi has also previously said he would love to see Janet Museveni succeed Yoweri Museveni and become Uganda’s first female president, before hinting on Salim Saleh being the rightful successor to Museveni, as reported Here and There.
