Uganda Police Force (UPF) chief IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has directed that the Naguru headquarters be temporarily closed after political commissar Asan Kasingye tested positive for Covid19
Kasingye confirmed his Covid19 status on August 23.
His office is housed at the police headquarters in Naguru in Kampala.
A day after Kasingye confirmed he had contracted Covid19, police spokesperson Fred Enanga announced the Force’s leadership had decided on a number of measures.
These included the closure of the Naguru headquarters for three days.
During these three days, health ministry officials will fumigate offices and test all staff for Covid19.
Police headquarters is one of the many workplaces that have confirmed Covid19.
Others include ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) head office in Kampala, arcades, and new media companies like New Vision, NBS TV and NTV Uganda.
Rising cases of Covid19 have in recent days increased the possibility of another lockdown.
