He started his music career in the early 2000s, adopting the stage name Bobi Wine, and released hits.
He is also known for his activism and politics, serving as a Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East and leading the National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
Bobi Wine is married to Barbie Kyagulanyi, and they have four children together.
He rejected the results of the 2026 presidential election and has since been hiding and security remains deployed at his home in Magere.
Heartfelt messages have been pouring in for Bobi Wine on his 44th birthday. Here are some of them:
Happy birthday to a leader whose courage has refused to bow even when silence feels safer. At a time when fear is used as a weapon and truth is chased like a crime, your resilience keeps reminding a whole generation that Uganda belongs to its people, not to intimidation.
As you mark this day away from the spotlight, know that the struggle you carry is not yours alone. Every voice you inspired, every young person who found hope through your stand, is thinking of you and praying for your safety. History has always shown that hiding does not silence a vision, it only proves how powerful that vision has become.
May this birthday renew your strength, guard your spirit, and remind you that the fight for justice, dignity, and freedom is bigger than any force trying to break it. The people are still standing, still believing, and still waiting for the day you walk freely among them again. Happy birthday President. – Nina Roz
Happy Birthday Mr President Bobi Wine. Through every hardship, we stand with you. Wishing you strength, protection, and many more victories ahead. More life always. – King Saha
You took a bold step, a step away from comfort and fame, a step few dared to take. A step that changed the political rhythm of this nation. Like David before Goliath, you did not count the cost of your own life. It was dangerous, yes, but it awakened a country.
You reshaped the mind of an entire generation — a generation trapped under dictatorship, fear, and lies a generation that once ignored the daily governance of its own nation. A generation lost in bars, parties, football, petty talks and empty pursuits. But you gave it a new song to follow, and we followed. As Scripture says, “You turned our mourning into dancing.”
You went further — you reunited a divided people, broken by tribe, religion and region, into one voice. Like Nehemiah rebuilding broken walls, you gathered us from regions, religions and clans and made us believe again. You showed us we are worthy citizens, that we all deserve equal rights in our own land.
Today, no one knows where you are. Your once-beautiful home has been taken by the state and turned into a barracks — now occupied by men who never built it, who never felt the sweat of an ordinary Ugandan (the Ghetto hustle). They live off our tears, blood, and pain. And the Bible says, “Woe to those who build their houses by injustice.” Shame.
You are worth celebrating, Mr. President. This nation will always honor you and your entire household for the gift of life and courage you shared and continue to share with us. As it is written, “A good name is better than riches.”
I miss you. I pray you are safe and healthy wherever you are. May the Lord be your shield and your fortress. May He strengthen and guide you until we reach the vision God placed in your heart — because deep inside you, all you desire is a better country for all. Happy Birthday, Mr. President Bobi Wine #BobiWineAt44.
You took on a responsibility that came with loads of challenges, but you continue to endure all those challenges with grace and commitment. We celebrate your resilient leadership, even in the toughest of times.
Happy birthday Mr. President Bobi Wine may God give you strength, and the ability to keep on keeping on, regardless what is thrown at you! – Joel Ssenyonyi
