Police have released new details about the man who wrapped a human head as a gift to Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga on September 14.
Earlier at about 11:30am, Parliament’s security arrested the man as he attempted to carry the wrapped human head that he claimed he wanted to present to Kadaga.
Hours after his arrest at Parliament, the man’s identity has been revealed.
According to the Criminal Investigations and Crime Intelligence Directorate (CID) of Police, the man’s name is Joseph Nuwashaba.
Nuwashaba is aged 22, and he hails from Kizinda Town in Bushenyi District’s Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality.
Police said, the head seemed to belong to a child named between five and eight years.
WHOSE HEAD?
According Mansio Charles Twine, the CID spokesperson the incident at Parliament is being investigated in connection with a killing in Masaka.
“Police in Masaka received a report of murder of unknown seaming kid that was headless (torso) in Kijabweni. The two separate body parts are being examined by our medical experts to establish whether they bear the same DNA and upon proof, the suspect will be charged of murder.”
