The Twitter account of Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s first son and ‘tweeting general’ has been deleted.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba, a son to long-serving Ugandan leader Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, has over the years been tweeting about the military, politics and social issues.
Currently, the commander of land forces in the UPDF, Uganda’s national army, and his father’s senior advisor on special operations, Kainerugaba’s tweets have sometimes been controversial and stirred debate.
While it was widely believed that the taking down of the account could have been due to suspected violation of Twitter rules, some unconfirmed rumors claim the president could have ordered his son to delete the account.
Kainerugaba’s supporters having been expressing their disappointment with Twitter over the account’s suspension while his critics were happy with the deletion.
First son Muhoozi is preparing for his birthday party for which he recently unveiled an organizing committee that shocked some people. (Read Story Here).
