Muhoozi Kainerugaba Critic's Twitter Account Deleted
The twitter account of novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, a fearless critic of first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his father Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, has been deleted.
On December 28, Security operatives arrested Rukirabashaija, 33, from his home in Kisaasi, Kampala for insulting Museveni and his son Lt Gen Kainerugaba on Twitter. (Read report here).
On January 11, court charged Rukirabashaija with disturbing President Museveni and son’s peace. (Read story here).
The novelist remains remanded at Kitalya Prison. When he returns to court, his lawyers are expected to ask for his release on bail.
If released, Rukirabashaija may have to pray that his Twitter account is restored; otherwise he might need to build another one from scratch.
It was not not clear why the novelist’s account, @RukiraKakwenza, had been deleted.
Meanwhile, the writer’s lawyer recently gave a damning account of how much torture Rukirabashaija was reportedly subjected to. (Read it here: SFC SOLDIERS PLUCKED FLESH FROM MY THIGHS USING PLIERS: ‘Wounded’ Muhoozi Kainerugaba Critic Kakwenza Narrates Torture in Detention
