EXPOSED! Bobi Wine Reveals State Operative Following Him Everywhere He Goes

National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has spoken out on a suspected state security operative he claims keep following him wherever he goes.

As a party leader, Bobi Wine is expected to attend several mobilization and other events. But a number of times, he and his NUP party are blocked by the state security operatives.

On some occasions, arrests and abductions of his supporters are made. The recent one is the abduction of Edward Ssebuufu, popularly known as Eddie Mutwe, a lead bodyguard for Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine addressed the issue of the new wave of abductions targeting opposition “comrades and supporters who are being disappeared by the regime security operatives.”

Noting that a number of NUP supporters and mobilizers continue to be held in dungeons run by UPDF intelligence at Mbuya and other security organs “without any legitimate reason,” Bobi Wine dismissed claims by the state officials and regime sympathizers that its supporters and mobilizers abduct themselves.

Bobi Wine described such thinking and statements as “absurd, baseless and ironical” given the fact that most of the missing supporters and party promoters have been found in custody of security agencies from where they are arraigned before courts of law.

The NUP leader also reminded regime defenders and sympathisers that torture chambers reportedly run by the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) – now referred to as  Defense Intelligence and Security (DIS) – remain out of reach of civilians and institutions supposed to demand answers on human rights.

He reminded them of a time in the 10th parliament (when he was Kyadondo East MP), when armed gunmen chased him and his colleagues from the Human Rights Committee of parliament who had gone on a fact finding mission at a safe house operated by the regime in Kyengera.

Some of the arrests in recent days are said to be driven by NUP’s popularization of its protest vote campaign, which Bobi Wine says is meant to encourage Ugandans to unanimously reject the status quo.

Through the protest vote, Bobi Wine hopes that citizens will reject human rights deprivation, repression, oppression, theft, corruption and other vices associated with the NRM regime of nearly four decades.

On the abduction of Eddie Mutwe, Bobi Wine said a state operative who follows him had been part of the disappearance of his chief bodyguard.

“The President says on the ill fated day of the abduction of comrade Eddie Mutwe, a one Muhumuza, a plain cloth security operative who trails him (the President) was part of the team that conducted the disappearance,” NUP said.

“Up to now, the whereabouts of comrade Eddie Mutwe are unknown and police have publicly denied responsibility.”

NUP lawyers have since filed a habeas corpus application to force the state to produce Eddie Mutwe dead or alive.

Other missing NUP supporters or mobilizers include Michael Mpalanyi, who the party says was abducted from Matugga on March 18; Shakur Ssentongo, who is said to have been abducted from Jinja on March 18; and a one Douglas Nsambu.

It should also be remembered that a NUP Ankole mobilizer was abducted at a hotel in Mbarara but was later dropped at his home, as reported Here.

Also, as reported recently, Bobi Wine was way popular than Museveni and others, according to an opinion poll. (See Details Here).
