Rev. Prof. Dr. Samuel Luboga, the Chairperson of the Education Service Commission (ESC), has shed more light on the recruitment of teachers and non-teaching staff for 91 seed schools.
Each school will get 31 staff, including two administrators, 23 teachers, and six non-teaching staff. In total, up to 2,821 staff will be sent to all the seed schools. Successful candidates will serve at the seed schools for at least five years.
Recruitment is free and open to eligible government and private sector staff, Luboga noted.
On December 23, 2024, the Education Service Commission issued an Advert No.4/2024 in which qualified persons have been invited to apply for the vacant positions in the Seed Schools built under the Uganda Inter-Government Fiscal Transfer Program (UGIFT).
The deadline for the applications will be January 10, 2025. “The first two weeks of the Advert are intended to allow candidates to organize their academic documents, which they will submit from Monday 6th to Friday 10th January 2025 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm,” added Luboga.
He also emphasized the mode of submission of the application documents as well the need for each candidate to apply for only one post, and only one school of their choice.
“The Schools have been organized into Ten (10) Clusters, and this is intended to ease access to the application-submission process by the eligible teaching and non-teaching staff. Application forms will be submitted to designated centres as already communicated to the public through Advert Number 4/2024. Each designated Centre will receive application forms for only schools in that cluster,” the ESC chairperson noted.
“Applicants have been advised to strictly use the Application Form UGIFT/2/2024 and Summary Form UGIFT/2/2024, which can be accessed on the Education Service.”
