CONFIRMED: See Names of Over 300 Teachers Appointed as Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers  of Seed Schools, Other Government Secondary Schools

Up to 306 teachers have been appointed as headteachers and deputy headteachers of seed schools and other government secondary schools, the Education Service Commission (ESC) under the Ministry of Education and Sports has confirmed.

The appointed were picked from a pool of candidates who sat for interviews  between March 10 and March 21, 2025 for the posts of headteacher and deputy headteacher government secondary education for schools built under Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers Program  (UGIFT).

The jobs had been advertised in 2025 under internal advert number 5/2024. After conducting aptitude tests and oral interviews for the candidates, the Education Service Commission has come up with the list of teachers they consider most qualified to take up these school administrative jobs.

The list of the over 300 headteachers and deputy headteachers also includes teachers recommended for these jobs by the Ministry of Education and Sports under reference letter number ADM 77/305/01 which was issued on October 08, 2025.

“Successful candidates should pick their notification letters from the Education Service Commission Registry First Floor Room 111, Farmers House on Wednesday 23rd April, 2025 from 09:00 AM,” noted acting ESC secretary Mohammed Kaaya.

“Please come along with your original identification card… those whose names don’t appear on the lists should consider themselves unsuccessful.”

You can see the list of over 1,300 teachers and non-teaching staff shortlisted for government payroll jobs in seed schools in cluster nine HERE.

Hundreds of teachers have also been exempted from doing aptitude tests and will wait for oral interviews. (See Details Here).

The Education Ministry is also hiring about 500 new teachers and headteachers to fill vacant positions in several secondary schools across the country. (See Details Here).
