Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has been reelected as the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Uganda’s main opposition political party.
Bobi Wine was reelected during the extra-ordinary meeting of the NUP delegates conference held at the party’s School of Leadership in Kamwokya in the capital Kampala.
Over 100 NUP members participated in the election exercise during which Bobi Wine addressed the delegates. Members also received reports from the secretary general and department heads.
The delegates included members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), members of the NUP parliamentary caucus, and other members notified by the secretary general through an invitation.
Bobi Wine, who was the party’s flag bearer and top most leader in the 2021 elections and after the polls, will steer the main opposition party until the next extra ordinary delegates conference to choose NEC leaders in 2030.
