BETRAYAL: Maid Who Jumped Off Dubai Building Was Reportedly Angry With Boyfriend Who Used Kyeyo Money She Sent Him to Marry Another Woman

Monica Karungi, a maid who jumped off a Dubai building to her death, was reportedly disappointed after his Ugandan boyfriend ate the money which she had sent home for development purposes.

On April 30, Ugandans were shocked to watch a video of a girl jump from the ninth floor of a 12-storied building in Dubai.

According to the Agnes Igoye, the deputy national coordinator, trafficking in persons department, it was not readily clear what had prompted Karungi aka Monna Kiz, the 24-year-old woman from Isingiro District, to commit suicide.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is expected to brief the nation after conducting investigations in liaison with authorities in Dubai.

A local news agency has quoted a source at one of the labour export companies as saying that there were reports that Karungi’s boyfriend who was staying in Uganda misused the money she was sending him.

The same source further claimed that Karungi’s boyfriend had even used her money to marry another woman.

But other reports suggested that Karungi was undergoing a lot of suffering in Dubai where she had been reportedly trafficked for greener pastures.
