Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda claims that former speaker Rebecca Kadaga cried when Museveni played audios of her telling a witchdoctor to bewitch and kill first family members and outgoing speaker Anita Among.
In a recent podcast, Andrew Mwenda claimed that a recent meeting at State House that had been called to discuss Anita Among’s fate took an interesting twist when Museveni reportedly used it to pin Kadaga over witchcraft.

He further alleged that Museveni was armed with media evidence and that he was so determined to present in the presence of bishops who he had called to State House, as the matter of witchcraft was spiritual.
Mwenda further alleged that an angry President Yoweri Museveni confronted Kadaga, playing audios of her giving instructions to a witchdoctor to bewitch and kill members of the first family.
The first family members mentioned, according to Mwenda, were President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni himself, his wife Janet Museveni Kataaha, his brother Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh, and his son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba – all influential members who wield a lot of power.
Kadaga, Mwenda further claimed, also wanted trouble to happen to Anita Among.
According to Mwenda, in the heated State House meeting, Kadaga admitted that she had indeed visited a witchdoctor to try and bewitch first family members and Anita Among.
The veteran journalist and commentator further alleged that Kadaga even broke down and apologized.
“Actually the meeting turns out to not have been about Anita Among. That’s how Museveni wanted to structure it. When they enter the meeting, Museveni plays an audio and a video where Kadaga had gone to a witch doctor, and asked the witch doctor to bewitch and kill Museveni, Mama Janet, Saleh, Muhoozi, and Anita Among. Five of them,” Mwenda said in the podcast.
“And yes, and Kadaga admits to have visited the witch doctor and that these audios that Museveni was playing are actually authentic and true.
She has to break down and apologize. So the meeting actually centers around Kadaga’s attempt to bewitch and kill the five. Then when the meeting ends, the bishop raises an issue of Among’s excessive wealth.”
