Main opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi Itungo celebrated Eid al-Fitr with the Muslim community in Washington DC.
Bobi Wine fled Uganda to the United States recently after hiding for two months since the 2026 presidential election.
Bobi Wine was making his second attempt at the presidency but results by the Museveni-appointed Electoral Commission indicated that the main opposition leader polled way lower than the incumbent and long serving president who got nearly 72 per cent of the votes.
Bobi Wine insists he was rigged out.
He recently started on his international engagements at Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
Eid al-Fitr found Bobi Wine and Barbie Kyagulanyi in Washington DC.
Here, the NUP leader met with the Muslim community in Washington DC which hosted him for Eid al-Fitr.
“We extend our gratitude to the Uganda Muslim American Association for graciously hosting our President and First Lady. May this Eid illuminate new hope, usher in opportunities, and bring lasting happiness to all. Eid al-Fitr!” wrote Dr Daniel Kawuma, the head of National Unity Platform (NUP) Diaspora said.

Bobi Wine has so far held meetings at Capitol Hill, which has prompted Museveni regime sympathisers to criticize him — and he has fired back at them. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
