Makerere University, Uganda’s oldest and largest higher learning institution, has released the final list of students who have been admitted on both government and private sponsorship at its law school.
The admitted students were picked from thousands who did law pre-entry exams and passed.
Those who scooped government sponsorship passed their law pre-entry exams highly.
Interestingly, even students who had scored as low as 13 points in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams administered by assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) have been awarded government sponsorship — provided they passed law pre-entry exam — according to lists obtained by The Pearl Times.
According to the Makerere University Academic Registrar, the admitted students will pursue day and afternoon programs.
“The Office of the Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released the admission lists for Bachelor of Laws for the Academic Year 2025/2026,” read a note accompanying the lists.
“Please note that the list includes Government Sponsorship for Bachelor of Laws i.e A-Level (Direct Entry), Bachelor of Laws-Day – (LAW) and Bachelor of Laws-Afternoon – (LAA).”
