A good number of people might have come to know Western Youth MP aspirant Elizabeth Kakwanzi Kantanywa because of the so-called ‘leaked’ video but as The Pearl Times now reports, she seems to be very well connected, politically.
For those reading our coverage on Elizabeth Kakwanzi Kantanywa for the first time, she is a top contestant in the race to succeed Edson Rugumayo, the current western youth MP.
Elizabeth Kakwanzi Kantanywa subscribes to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) whose national chairman in Uganda’s long serving president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
As The Pearl Times has also learnt, Elizabeth Kakwanzi Kantanywa has been attending youth events and other key ceremonies of powerful and influential NRM and government officials.
For example, she has met President Museveni at Parish Development Model (PDM) presidential tour events.
At one such event, Kakwanzi is seen interacting face to face with the president.
At another event she is seen with Vice President Jessica Alupo while in another, she is with Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
The Pearl Times has also seen photos of Elizabeth Kakwanzi Kantanywa attending the 65th birthday celebrations for Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Gen Salim Saleh.
She was also seen at an event hosted by Minister and MP Bright Rwamirama Kanyontore.
At most of these events, Elizabeth Kakwanzi Kantanywa is seen either actively listening or participating in other ways.

Her camp continues to express confidence that – given that she is the most recognizable of the aspirants in the Western youth MP race, and that given her mobilization skills – she stands high chances.
