War of Words! Winnie Byanyima vs Adonia Ayebare. See All Attacks and Counter Attacks

Byanyima and Ayebare to Each Other: Stay in Your Lane

Dirty Secrets, Allegations as Winnie Byanyima and Adonia Ayebare Bang Each Other’s Tables Again Winnie Byanyima Vs Adonia Ayebare

Winnie Byanyima and Adonia Ayebare

A bitter exchange between Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations. Adonia Ayebare and UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima, also wife to incarcerated opposition leader Dr Kiiza Besigye, has erupted online.

While Winnie Byanyima and Besigye oppose the Museveni regime of nearly four decades, Adonia Ayebare supports it and roots for Muhoozi.

It all started when Winnie Byanyima wondered “for how long must this go on?” in reference to the demand, by Sudan’s government, for an apology from Museveni’s government regarding first son’s and army chief Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s comments. (Details of Sudan’s demand for an apology from Museveni’s government over Muhoozi’s comments are Here).

Thereafter, an exchange between Adonia Ayebare and Winnie Byanyima ensued, with hard hitting rebuttals from either side, as captured below:

Adonia Ayebare: My Sister [Winnie Byanyima] your an International civil servant desist from running commentaries  on national and regional politics.

Winnie Byanyima: I know my duties and responsibilities Adonia Ayebare. You are not an international civil servant. Stay in your lane!

Adonia Ayebare: I am firmly in my lane, I hope you stay in yours.

Winnie Byanyima: It is not your role to remind of my duties and responsibilities. No. Stay in your lane.

Adonia Ayebare: Madam your went off your lane as per article 1: Regulation 1.2 (f) of UN staff regulations.

While staff members’ personal views and convictions, including their political and religious convictions, remain inviolable, staff members shall ensure that those views and convictions do not adversely affect their official duties or the interests of the United Nations. They shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner befitting their status as international civil servants and shall not engage in any activity that is incompatible with the proper discharge of their duties with the United Nations. They shall avoid any action and, in particular, any kind of public pronouncement that may  adversely reflect on their status, or on the integrity, independence and impartiality that are required by that status; — article 1: Regulation 1.2 (f) of UN staff regulations.

Winnie Byanyima: Ah, the classic overreach! When confidence exceeds competence and posturing replaces substance. Mr Adonia Ayebare do yourself a favour and focus on cleaning up the diplomatic mess the CDF has caused. Again, Stay in Your Lane.

Adonia Ayebare: You have been on the wrong end of the UN rules and regulation at UNDP for engaging in similar politicking , and it did not end well.  Uganda’s diplomacy regionally and internationally is in excellent condition contrary to your red herring schemes. Regional dynamics are to complex for your level of competence and expertise.

Winnie Byanyima: I see you’re aiming for the gutter, but I’ll decline the invitation. Humility and honesty are far better companions than all your sycophantic noise. Rise above, Mr Adonia Ayebare – it’s a better look!

Adonia Ayebare: Honesty and humility are mutual, your cannot violate rules of your employment and engage in fighting a government I serve and you expect me to say yes Madam. If your honest admit that this Government has been supportive of you both at UNDP and UNAIDS, like it should be. You cannot eat you cake and have it.

Winnie Byanyima: The government that you serve, afraid of my truth, framed me with a bogus gun charge. It was dismissed by a judge who rebuked police for lying under oath. They accused me of sedition, then withdrew after 2 years of trial to avoid humiliation. I stand for justice and won’t bow to the unjust. What do you stand for? MK?

Adonia Ayebare: Your version of the truth is selective, the same government supported your candidature for UNAIDS at your request.

Winnie Byanyima: Mr Adonia Ayebare, you are now in a topic tango – when you can’t win one argument, you change the subject. Keep dancing. I’ll be over here with the facts.

It should be remembered that from controversial comments on Sudan, Muhoozi has threatened to arrest Lt Gen Peter Elwelu, a former deputy CDF and now presidential advisor to his father Museveni. He has also said he supports the idea of his mother Janet Museveni succeeding his father Yoweri Museveni to become Uganda’s first female president. (See Details Here and There).
