Pastor Dr. Joseph Serwadda, the Senior Minister of Victory Christian Centre Churches and the Presiding Apostle of the Born Again Faith in Uganda, has cursed government officials pushing for the National Coffee Amendment Bill 2024. Pastor Sserwadda believes the move is meant to fleece Ugandan coffee farmers.
In sermons to his flock, Pastor Sserwadda reminded those listening to him that unregistered farmers and traders will soon be thrown out of the coffee business.
Attributing the move to tightly regulate the coffee business on the rise in prices, Pastor Sserwadda said, “Now they have seen the wealth coming to coffee farmers’ pockets and the corrupt government officials have plotted to fail the farmers.”
Pastor Sserwadda them cursed top stakeholders in efforts to push through the coffee bill which will tightly regulate the currently lucrative coffee sector.
“I have already handed over all concerned government officials, including ministers, who want to steal Ugandan farmers’ coffee, whatever eats them up and whatever cuts them off should cut them off quickly,” he declared as his flock clapped.
He further asked the Lord to fight for coffee farmers and protect them from powerful politicians seeking to fail them.
He asked the Lord to chase those plotting against farmers from His presence and make their paths slippery.
In another ‘preaching,’ Pastor Sserwadda reminded the mafia plotting to hijack Uganda’s coffee sector that they are not the ones even purchasing coffee from Uganda coffee farmers, and that they should leave them alone.
“I speak to the powers that be, ‘leave the coffee farmers alone because you’re not the ones who buy their coffee: the market is in Europe, the market is abroad. Let the people fight their way out of poverty,’” said Sserwadda.
He added that the plot to register farmers was part of a larger plan to either keep many citizens in poverty or make rich Ugandans poor.
“This shows you that some officials are committed to implementing a plan to impoverish Ugandans,” he claimed.
