Commander-in-chief of Uganda’s armed forces Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni is expected to announce Deputy chief of Defence Forces (D-CDF) Lt Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi as the new CDF replacing Gen David Muhoozi.
Museveni appointed Gen Muhoozi state (junior) minister for internal affairs on June 08.
Today, Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah first read Lt Gen Mbadi on the list of UPDF representatives on the Appointments Committee, but later announced he had received information that the name be removed.
UPDF has replaced Mbadi with Lt Gen Peter Elwelu.
Sources told Pearl Times News the removal of Lt Gen Mbadi’s name from the list of members of Appointments Committee point to his new role in the army.
