All Saints Church in Nakasero, Kampala, was a scene of dramatic events on March 02 as two families fought over the body of fallen lawyer Bob Kasango.
Kasango, who relatives revealed was born Okello but named Kasango after his dead uncle, passed on in Luzira Prison at the weekend.
The requiem mass was followed by a fight for the body between the family of the fallen lawyer and that of his wife.
A Japadhola, Kasango had married Nice Bitarabeho, a Mutooro.
Bitarabeho and her family had expected to drive the body using an A-Plus Funeral Service van but the lawyer’s family members managed to carry the body to a truck before driving off.
Whereas Bitarabeho had hoped to bury Kasango at her ancestral home in Fort Portal city, the lawyer’s family objected to this.
“Kasango is a Japadhola from Tororo district and not a Mutooro. Why should he be buried at his wife’s ancestral home? He is my son and has been looking after me,” the deceased lawyer’s mother Rose Kabise, said.
“I can’t allow him be buried anywhere else apart from his ancestral home.”
Burial is scheduled for March 04 at Wekusi Village, Karandi Parish, Kirewa Sub County in Tororo District
