NTV Uganda journalist Patrick Ssenyondo's car smashed by thugs.
NTV Uganda reporter Patrick Ssenyondo has survived being harmed by thugs who attacked him on June 11 night, smashing his car and taking off with his valuables.
Senyondo’s was attacked after Ku-mbuzi along Gayaza road on his way from his workplace at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Thugs, who were travelling on two motorcycles, smashed his tinted car and took off with his laptop. The motorcyclists had tricked Ssenyondo, making it appear like he was about to knock one of them who pretended to be about to fall off.
That as Ssenyondo concentrated on the ‘about-to-fall’ motorcyclist (consequently braking), this rider’s colleague swung into action, broke the co-driver window and grabbed a laptop bag that belonged to the journalist.
“I thank God I survived an attack on my way home from work yesterday. Two motorcycles; one on the driver’s side and another on the co-driver’s side. One carrying another person rode past my car and some how pretended like he lost balance trying to fall. I had to brake a bit. Immediately, the other motorcycle on the co-driver’s side smashed the glass on the co-driver’s side,” Ssenyondo’s colleague Patrick Mukasa quoted the journalist as saying.
“I had a laptop bag on the front seat and these attackers ran with it. Things happened so quickly. By the time I regained from the shock to drive off, guys had disappeared already.”
