There was drama in Supreme Court in Kampala March 18 afternoon as dissenting Justice Esther Kisakye accused Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo of confiscating her minority ruling in favour of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Consequently, the other eight justices walked out on Kisakye.
Public address system and power were also switched off.
The Supreme Court bench had convened to deliver its full judgement on why they okayed Bobi Wine’s decision to withdraw his petition.
Bobi Wine had run to the Supreme Court challenging his election loss to incumbent Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
But he withdrew his petition, citing bias on the side of judges.
Kisakye shocked Owiny-Dollo and other judges when she made an accusation against the chief justice.
“I am here today to give my ruling in the recently withdrawn presidential petition. What is of surprise to me is that my file has apparently been confiscated on the orders of the chief justice,” Kisakye said.
