Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Naggayi has taken over their Buziga house after replacing guards and locking her husband Isaac Sempala and police out March 24 night.
Nabilah had reportedly hidden in Nansana for over a week from where she planned a raid on the Buziga house.
After sneaking into the Buziga house on Wednesday, Nabilah ordered guards to lock out Sempala and all his relatives.
Knocks on the gate went unanswered.
Sempala jumped over the fence to access the compound.
He and his group of sympathizers then forced the gate open, only to realize that the entire house was bolted.
The takeover comes a week after deputy registrar Flavia Nabakooza of the Land Division of the High Court in Kampala ruled that he would keep possession of Buziga house until a ruling on the main case involving his wife Nabilah Naggayi and Prof Baryamureeba.
On March 12, Nabilah had moved to evict her husband Sempala from their home in Buziga to recover Prof Baryamureeba’s Shs800m.
Nabilah had secured help of police officers who drove four pickups to Buziga’s Katuso Close to evict Sempala.
Nabilah and Sempala have for months ridden on court orders and counter-orders in their wrangle over the house and Baryamureeba’s Shs800m debt.
A court decision on who should take charge of the home is expected on April 06.
Yesterday evening, Nabilah’s husband showed up at the premises following a tip-off from home that his wife had returned and defenestrated those in the house and reportedly hired guards to maintain her orders.
The husband in the company of media and police stayed at the gate knocking but he was denied entry prompting him to jump over the fence and with help of his entourage forced the gate open.
Alas, all the doors had been bolted and despite accessing the compound, the crew was unable to find headway in their quest to get in even as the night folded on them.
A dejected Mr. Ssempala sunk on the floor inviting sympathy and tears from those that had escorted him.
