UPDATE: Education Service Commission Makes Changes in Interview Dates for Teachers Shortlisted for Payroll Jobs

The Education Service Commission (ESC) has announced changes in the schedule for interviews for the posts of teachers (education officers and assistant education officers) as well as non-teaching staff that were recently shortlisted for government payroll jobs.

The interviews started this week at the ESC regional centres of Mbarara, Mbale, Gulu and Arua, with hundreds quizzed on their suitability for these jobs.

But on May 20, ESC secretary Dr Asuman Lukwago announced changes in the interview schedule for some of the shortlisted candidates.

“Education Service Commission has made some adjustments in dates of interviews for the posts of Education Officer, Assistant Education Officer and Non-Teaching staff that are currently going on in regional – centres of Mbarara, Mbale, Arua and Gulu,” said Dr Lukwago.

But he made it clear that the changes will not affect all shortlisted candidates, meaning that some will undergo interviews under the previously announced schedule showing dates per board.

ESC has tasked field staff to contact affected candidates and inform them of the new changes, clearly indicating the new dates for the interviews.

“Candidates should note that: only those Candidates whose scheduled dates have been changed will be contacted. Candidates whose scheduled dates have not changed will not be contacted and they should therefore attend the interviews as earlier on scheduled,” announced Lukwago.

“The calls are only in respect of change of dates. The venues, boards and time of reporting for interviews remain the same. For further information please contact our field staff on the following numbers: Mbarara Centre: 0772424458; Gulu Centre: 0772569809; Arua Centre: 0776400610; Mbale Centre 0772569809.”

The Education Service Commission recently released names of teachers shortlisted for government payroll jobs at the Mbarara, Gulu, Arua and Mbale Centres. (See Full List Here).
