Tumukunde to withdraw from presidential race if the ground is not leveled

Presidential Candidate Lt. Gen (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde has threatened to withdraw from the presidential race if he is denied a chance to pass on his message to Ugandans.

Tukumunde made the remarks while at his office in Kololo Kampala ahead of his nomination on Monday after president Museveni has been nominated.

“Should we in the process of this exercise find that we are not doing anything like an election, some of us may have to choose to leave and not legitimising what otherwise is not an election,” said Tumukunde

Tukumunde hopes to unseat his former boss and Bush war comrade come 2021 with his slogan of ‘’renewed Uganda.’’

He will be contesting as an independent candidate using clock symbol under his ‘Renewed Uganda’ platform that he inveigled in August this year.
