A Tausi bus involved in an accident
At least three people were killed in a Tausi Bus accident along the Mbarara-Ishaka Highway. Seven others were injured in the same accident that happened at Katojo at around 5pm on Thursday, March 05, 2026.
The accident involved a bus from Tausi Bus Company registration number UBA 707AK and a Toyota Noah registration number UA 196AY.
The accident happened as the Toyota Noah, that is said to have been travelling from Ishaka to Mbarara, reportedly veered of the lane and collided with an oncoming bus which was speeding.
Attempts by the bus driver to dodge the Toyota Noah were unsuccessful. The Toyota Noah driver was also said to be driving on the wrong side of the road.
The drivers of the vehicles involved in the accident fled the scene following the collision that took lives.
Greater Bushenyi police has confirmed the accident and the death of three people in the crash. Police took the bodies of the deceased to Kampala International University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Those who were injured in the accident were rushed to Kabwohe Health Center IV where they are currently receiving treatment.
