Deputy Speaker of parliament Anita Annet Among is expected to express interest in replace Speaker Jacob Oulanyah in a race scheduled for Friday.

On March 21, cabinet announced March 25 as the date for election of speaker.
A few hours later, Herbert Kinobere, the vice chairperson of the NRM parliamentary caucus said Among would pick expression of interest forms from the ruling party.
Kinobere, also the Kibuku MP, noted that Among, the Bukedea District Woman legislator, will pick expression of interest form at 11am on March 22 from Dr Tanga Odoi’s NRM Electoral Commission (EC) office on Plot 13, Kyadondo Road in Kampala.
