Tamale Mirundi Cause of Death: What Ended the Life of Ex-Museveni Press Secretary?

Joseph Tamale Mirundi, who served as President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s press secretary from 2003 to 2015, died on August 13, 2024. Many politicians and entertainment gurus in the country have been sending out condolence messages to the family of the now late Tamale Mirundi.

But what killed the son of Yowana Mirundi and Molly Namatovu at the age of 60? In the months leading to his death, Tamale Mirundi had developed heath issues, some necessitating that he is admitted to hospital.

He was previously diagnosed with low blood pressure, according to reports. Last month, after his health condition worsened, he was admitted at Kisubi Hospital, including in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Tamale Mirundi had spent about a month at Kisubi Hospital receiving treatment. Media reports quoted his family as saying the former presidential press secretary succumbed to complications related to the function of the lungs.

A son to the late Tamale Mirundi has been quoted as saying that his father appeared to have shown signs of improvement two days before he breathed his last at about 11:40 PM on the night of August 13, 2024. (See related reporting Here)

The son further said that there were worries as the doctors attending to Tamale Mirundi reported that there was an influx of water in his lungs.

They tried to suck the water out of the lungs but soon, this measure proved unsustainable as they noticed an unusual flow of blood in the place of the water.

Years ago, Tamale Mirundi claimed that he had been poisoned. In his talk shows, he always hinted on the mafia who were reportedly after the lives of those who were exposing them or blocking their multi-billion bills.

Tamale Mirundi survived an accident in 2020 and could not rule out the hand of people he claimed were the ‘mafia.
