Climate activists in Uganda have appealed to the government to prioritise women-led climate change projects in the next Gender Action Plan arguing that many women are being left on the sidelines yet they are the most affected by climate shocks.
At the ongoing COP28 in Dubai, African Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have issued a hard-hitting statement calling out developed nations to commit to phasing out fossil fuel and protecting ecosystems among other demands. Developed countries are expected to propose $500m for L&D Fund, a figure way lower than what is needed for the climate crisis that requires trillions of dollars for adaptation and mitigation.
