Jacob Oulanyah, the speaker of Uganda’s 11th Parliament, has spoken out for the first time since being flown out of the country for specialized treatment in the US.
Oulanyah was rushed to the US a few weeks ago. (Read Story Here).
His condition was said to be worrying then.
Some people had claimed that the speaker and Omoro County MP had died. But these reports have been debunked. (Read Story Here).
As we reported a few hours ago, deputy speaker Anita Annet Among has told Parliament that Oulanyah was in a better state. (Read Story Here).
Now, the speaker has also spoken out.
But Oulanyah didn’t divulge more details about his condition.
He only appreciated Ugandans for extending their prayers to him.
“Fellow Ugandans, my deepest appreciation for your well-wishes and prayers. I wish you God’s blessings,” he tweeted.
Some trolls quickly suggested that the tweet had not been sent out by Oulanyah himself but by his handler.
