Nelson Wafula, the late son for FDC politician and former leader of opposition in Parliament Philip Wafula Oguttu, was set to wed his fiancee Amanda in July 2021.
Nelson died June 05 at Kampala Hospital where he had been admitted.
At a requiem mass held at St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church in Ntinda on June 06 afternoon, the family revealed he was set to wed fiancee Amanda in July.
He was expected to wed Amanda at the same church.
Nelson, who died aged 31, left behind a daughter.
His parents said he loved cars so much, began driving at 10 and named his daughter Mercedes.
Several leaders from the FDC and the People’s Government, including the parallel government’s president Dr Kizza Besigye and his deputy Erias Lukwago, attended the requiem mass.
Nelson will be laid to rest in Bugiri on June 07.
