Kampala Woman Member of Parliament (MP) Shamim Malende has been rushed to a hospital in the Kenyan capital Nairobi after her health condition deteriorated, requiring more specialized treatment.
Malende, her friends and some family members were last seen at the Bizonto Comedy show in Kampala last weekend. But it is said that she got sick last Sunday (November 13) morning at about 11am. It was first thought that the first time legislator and National Unity Platform (NUP) lawyer was suffering from fatigue and would soon be fine.
MP Malende had reportedly become unconscious and collapsed in her home in Kampala Capital City’s Kawempe Division, prompting her family to rush her to Uganda Martyrs’ Hospital, Rubaga in the capital Kampala.
At Rubaga Hospital, she was treated for a number of days before being referred to Nairobi, Kenya for better treatment. Other reports suggested that Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, and Bukedea District Woman MP Anita Annet Among Magogo of the ruling NRM party was the one who ordered that the NUP lawmaker should be rushed to Nairobi Hospital for specialized treatment.
This is not the first time MP Shamim Malende is being rushed to hospital. A few months ago, she was in hospital. Also, about one year ago, MP Malende claimed that some people were trailing her and wanted to kill her. (See Details Here and There).
